CCII Warns Fayose Against Dragging Olubadan into Politics

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) issued a warning to former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday, urging him to stop dragging the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, into political battles. The council's statement, delivered by its General Secretary Ajeniyi Ajewol, expressed disappointment over Fayose's remarks made during a recent interview on Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye, where he accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of dismantling the political structure of the South West chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The CCII emphasized that the Olubadan institution is strictly non-partisan and should not be involved in political disputes, warning that such actions could create unnecessary tension in Ibadanland. The council reiterated its earlier caution to Fayose against associating the revered monarch with partisan politics, stressing that the Olubadan's dignity must be preserved.
