Liverpool's Isak sidelined by thigh injury during Sweden duty

Liverpool forward Alexander Isak will not feature in Sweden's remaining fixtures after picking up a minor thigh complaint during international duty. The 27-year-old returned to club premises for medical assessment following the withdrawal from his national team camp, as confirmed by both the Swedish Football Association and Liverpool.

Isak scored in Sweden's Nations League group-stage victory over Romania on Friday, playing the complete 90 minutes before sustaining the injury. Swedish coach Graham Potter stated the problem was not severe but noted that the frequency of matches scheduled in a compressed timeframe meant risking the striker was inadvisable.

Isak will miss three upcoming fixtures: matches against Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a return engagement with Romania. The setback comes as the in-form forward has made a bright beginning to his current campaign with Liverpool, having contributed four goals across five Premier League appearances before the international break.
