Livestock Ministry Partners for 2026 Animal Agriculture Conference

The Ministry of Livestock Development, represented by Stella Oduem, has pledged to collaborate with the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) for the upcoming 9th edition of the Animal Agriculture Conference, scheduled to be held in 2026 in Nigeria. During a visit by the local organizing committee led by NIAS Registrar Professor Grac M.B.

Jokthan to the Ministry's office in Abuja, it was discussed that the conference aims to bring together experts and stakeholders from Africa to discuss best practices in animal agriculture and livestock production, which are crucial for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria. The conference was initially rescheduled from 2025 to 2026 to allow for adequate planning and stakeholder engagement.

Henrietta Okokon, Deputy Director of Public Relations, emphasized the importance of private sector financing and institutional support for the conference. Preparations for the event are already in earnest, with a call for paper submissions and awareness campaigns being launched across various social media platforms.
