Kaduna State Government Clarifies Loans in Budget Are from Past Administrations, Not New Ones

The Kaduna State government, through the Kaduna State Commission, explained that the loans in the budget are from previous administrations and not new ones. Governor Uba Sani stated that the state's 2026 budget will be financed without borrowing, relying on statutory allocations, IGR, and grants.

The commission emphasized that any misunderstanding regarding the loan drawdown component of the budget is due to misinformation. Governor Uba Sani reiterated the commitment to servicing existing loans and continuing to provide development projects for the people of Kaduna State.
