Lookman Names Reece James Toughest Opponent in Interview

In a recent interview with ESPN, Nigerian international Ademola Lookman identified Chelsea FC captain Reece James as his toughest opponent, placing Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool second on his list. Lookman discussed his battles against elite defenders across Europe, particularly noting the challenges he faced against James during his time at Chelsea.

Lookman, who made a £35 million move to Atalanta in January, has had a swift impact, scoring on his debut in a 5-0 Copa del Rey victory over Real Betis and recording seven goals and four assists in 19 competitive appearances. His standout performances include notable displays against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Lookman also became the first Nigerian to score for Atlético Madrid but later suffered an adductor injury during the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad. He has recently returned to action, participating in a draw against Arsenal FC.
