PRP's Yakubu Kingsley Urges Voter Registration Before Deadline

Yakubu Kingsley, a chieftain of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), called on eligible Nigerians to register for the ongoing voter registration exercise before the deadline of July 26, 2026. He expressed concern over the low turnout of eligible voters despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) extending the registration period by two weeks.

Kingsley emphasized that failing to register would deny millions of qualified citizens their constitutional right to vote in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He described the registration exercise as a critical moment in Nigeria's democratic journey and urged citizens to obtain their permanent voter cards.

Kingsley highlighted the importance of participation in the electoral process, especially for youth, women, and other marginalized groups. He also challenged political stakeholders to engage in peaceful activities and avoid inflammatory rhetoric as the elections approach.

The PRP's presidential primary, held on May 25, produced Donald Duke as the party's presidential candidate for the future of Nigeria.
