Ojukwu Joins Caretaker Committee Amid Labour Party Crisis

Clement Ojukwu, the former national organizing secretary of the Labour Party, has lamented the party's significant losses in the 2023 general elections, stating they have lost all their federal and state lawmakers. He expressed his regret over the legal battles initiated by Julius Abure's faction, which he believes have negatively impacted the party's performance.

Ojukwu has recently aligned himself with an interim national working committee led by Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, which comprises 34 members of the House of Representatives and 80 members of state houses of assembly. He emphasized the need for unity among party members at all levels to help rebuild the Labour Party, which he feels is on the brink of collapse due to ongoing legal disputes.

Ojukwu urged Abure and others to drop their legal cases, asserting that litigation is detrimental to the party's survival and could lead to its disappearance.
