Ojukwu Critiques Labour Party's Legal Challenges

Clement Ojukwu, the former Organising Secretary of the Labour Party, lamented the party's collapse due to the impact of several legal cases stemming from the 2023 general elections. Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Ojukwu expressed his disappointment regarding the adverse effects of these court cases on the party's performance.

He highlighted the recent return of an interim national working committee led by Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, which was formed after the party elected 34 members to the House of Representatives and 80 members to state houses of assembly during the elections. Ojukwu noted that he chose not to join the caretaker committee led by Usman, as he recognized Julius Abur's faction as the legitimate leadership of the Labour Party.

He urged Abur and others to withdraw their legal cases, asserting that these actions do not benefit the party. Ojukwu also indicated that he does not believe joining Usman's committee would betray Abur's group.
