LSETF and Canva to Train 5,000 Lagos Businesses in AI

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has partnered with global design platform Canva to provide training for 5,000 businesses in Lagos, focusing on digital marketing, branding, and artificial intelligence. The one-year initiative aims to equip eligible nano, micro, small, and medium enterprises with free access to Canva Business and at least four virtual training sessions.
The training will cover brand management, AI-assisted design, and marketing campaign management, with participants learning to create brand kits, presentations, and marketing assets. Executive Secretary of LSETF, Feyisayo Alayande, emphasized that access to finance alone is insufficient for business growth without the necessary knowledge and digital tools.
Canva Africa Partnership Lead, Farai Ntuli, noted the program's timing is strategic, coinciding with the busy trading season. Applications opened on October 9, with onboarding scheduled for early November, and training expected to continue until February 2027.
The program aims for at least 2,000 businesses to become regular users of Canva.
