Maduka University Celebrates Third Igbo Cultural Day

Maduka University in Enugu hosted its third annual Igbo Cultural Day, transforming the campus into a vibrant display of Igbo culture and traditions. The event featured various activities, including culinary exhibits, traditional dance performances, and a fashion parade showcasing traditional attire.

Chancellor Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi opened the event, highlighting the significance of cultural identity in shaping national development.

He noted that while technology drives innovation, cultural heritage remains invaluable. Vice Chancellor Professor Charl Ogbulogo echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of cultural awareness in preparing students for leadership in a globalized world.

Students actively participated by preparing traditional dishes and engaging in cultural performances, which were assessed by a panel of judges. The event culminated in the crowning of a king and queen, marking a celebratory conclusion to the day.
