Oyo State Youth Parliament Reconstituted by Governor Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde approved the reconstitution of the Oyo State Youth Parliament, leading to the inauguration of its 3rd assembly. This initiative is part of efforts to deepen youth participation in governance and leadership development across Oyo State.

The Oyo State Youth Parliament serves as a non-partisan legislative simulation platform, mirroring the operations of the Oyo State House of Assembly, with membership drawn from the state's 32 constituencies to ensure equitable representation of youth aged 15 to 29. The program aims to equip young people with leadership skills and civic awareness, encouraging meaningful contributions to society and public service.

The newly selected members will undergo an induction program to provide foundational knowledge necessary for their roles. A valedictory session will honor outgoing members of the 2nd assembly for their contributions to youth advocacy and civic engagement.

The agency expressed confidence that the new assembly will bring fresh ideas and perspectives to advance youth-focused policies in Oyo State.
