Oyo Lawmaker Pledges N50m for Youth Legislative Summit

Adedeji Olajide, representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in Oyo State, pledged N50 million for the Youth Legislative Summit during his induction into the University of Ibadan Students’ Union on Wednesday. As the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement for the Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Olajide expressed his commitment to mentoring youths in his constituency and across the state.

He highlighted the need for students to remain focused and disciplined, stating, “My new role will be to help you restore values and discipline.” Additionally, he donated 20 laptops to the Oyo State Youth Parliament to aid in closing the digital gap in society and announced plans to launch a digital center with training programs. John Oludele, Speaker of the University of Ibadan Students’ Legislative Council, praised Olajide’s contributions to student development, comparing his induction to the honorary citizenship awarded to Prof. Wole Soyinka.
