Oyo Assembly Approves Governor Makinde's Vacation Request

The Oyo State House of Assembly has granted approval for Governor Seyi Makinde to proceed on his annual vacation beginning August 10, 2026. This decision was made during a plenary session where Deputy Speaker Hon.

Muhammed Fadeyi, presiding in the absence of Speaker Rt Honorable Adebo Ogundoyin, read the governor's formal request. The governor will officially resume his duties on September 14, 2026.

During his absence, Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal will act on his behalf, overseeing the day-to-day administration of the state. The Assembly expressed confidence in Lawal's leadership capabilities, emphasizing the importance of continuity in governance.
