Oyo Governor Makinde Receives Surveillance Aircraft for Security

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has taken delivery of two security surveillance aircraft to strengthen the state's security operations. The aircraft arrived at the Ladoke Akintola International Airport in Ibadan on Tuesday.

Makinde described this acquisition as a significant advancement in enhancing the state's security architecture. He explained that the aircraft would aid security agencies by improving aerial monitoring, intelligence gathering, and response capabilities across Oyo State.

The decision to acquire the aircraft was based on the need to complement ground security efforts, particularly given the state's vast area and monitoring challenges. Makinde clarified that this initiative is part of a long-term security plan and not a direct response to a recent kidnapping incident in Oriire Local Government Area.

The aircraft will be deployed immediately for security operations and were flown in by Nigerian Air Force pilots under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Oyo State Government. Makinde assured residents that his administration prioritizes their safety and welfare.
