Oyo Government Enhances Intelligence-Based Security Measures

The Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to intelligence-driven security and collaboration with national defense and intelligence institutions to safeguard lives and property. Acting Governor Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal made this statement on Thursday through Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, during a courtesy visit from the Commandant and participants of the Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers’ Course 16 (2026) of the Defence Intelligence College, Karu.

The visit took place at the Conference Room of the Local Government Service Commission, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, as part of the course's National Study Tour. Lawal highlighted the critical role of the Defence Intelligence College in enhancing Nigeria's national security and intelligence capacity.

He noted that the state government is strengthening its security architecture through inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, and community engagement. Lawal urged course participants to engage stakeholders and share experiences to improve security operations, emphasizing their duty to protect lives and maintain peace.
