APC Claims Makinde Would Have Sold Nigeria If Elected

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde would have sold Nigeria and its national assets if he had been in the position of President Bola Tinubu. This accusation arose in response to remarks made by Makinde regarding Tinubu’s economic policies during the unveiling of Ogun State candidates for the Allied People’s Movement on Monday in Abeokuta.

The APC, through its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare, stated that Nigeria was fortunate not to have elected someone like Makinde in 2023. Sadare criticized Makinde's governance, claiming he has transferred state assets to inappropriate parties for cash over the past seven years.

He asserted that Makinde's criticisms of Tinubu's policies are unfounded, contrasting them with the positive recognition Tinubu has received from global institutions for his efforts to stabilize Nigeria. The APC concluded that Nigerians would not trust Makinde with their mandate.
