Man Seeks Court's Help to Marry Off Daughter

A man has filed a complaint in a Shari’a court, represented by his counsel H.B Debo, requesting the court's assistance in marrying off his 27-year-old daughter. The daughter has completed her Higher National Diploma (HND) but has not secured a serious suitor despite having several admirers.

The father claims that her mother has influenced her against him, complicating the situation. The daughter, however, stated that none of her admirers have proposed marriage.

The presiding Judge, Malam Yakubu Abdullahi, acknowledged the sensitivity of the case, given the familial relationship involved. He indicated that he would engage in one-on-one discussions with both parties to better understand their perspectives and provide further advice.

The case has been adjourned to August 3 for a ruling.
