Bruno Fernandes Wins 2026 PFA Players’ Player Award

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, was awarded the 2026 Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Player of the Year at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony held at the Manchester Opera House in Manchester, United Kingdom, on Tuesday. The Portuguese midfielder received this prestigious honor after being voted the best player of the 2025/26 season by his fellow professionals, surpassing five other nominees, including Manchester City players Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, and Arsenal players Declan Rice, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães.

Fernandes played a pivotal role in Manchester United's third-place finish in the Premier League and their return to the UEFA Champions League, achieving a record-breaking 21 assists in the league. He had previously been named the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year and the Premier League’s Player of the Season.

The PFA Players’ Player of the Year award is particularly significant as it is determined by fellow players, highlighting Fernandes' influence since joining Manchester United in January 2020.
