Gunmen Attack Kaduna Wedding, Killing 13 and Kidnapping Scores

On late Sunday night, around 11:47 PM, a wedding ceremony in Kahir Village, Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, was violently disrupted by a large number of armed assailants. Eyewitness reports indicate that the gunmen opened fire indiscriminately on guests, resulting in at least 13 fatalities and several injuries.

Victims were rushed to a general hospital in Kagarko, with some in critical condition requiring advanced medical attention. The exact number of abducted individuals remains unclear due to confusion during the attack.

Community leaders reported that the assailants operated for nearly an hour without resistance from security forces, subsequently looting shops and taking food supplies. Efforts by security agencies are underway to determine the number of abducted persons and to track down the perpetrators.

DSP Hassan Mansur of the Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that a comprehensive report will be released in due course. Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe and Senator Sani Musa visited the injured victims receiving treatment.
