Cleric Urges Nigerians to Avoid Negative Speech

During a monthly interaction service at the Headstone Tabernacle in Uyo, Apostle John Okoriko, the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Akwa Ibom State, admonished Christians to avoid negative utterances that could lead to marital separations and broader national issues. He warned that many conflicts arise from negative comments and urged Nigerians to refrain from confessing negative words about the nation, which he believes brings misfortune.

Okoriko emphasized the spiritual impact of words, referencing biblical teachings that highlight the power of spoken words in shaping reality. He encouraged leaders and citizens to maintain faith and speak positively, especially in light of the harsh economic and political conditions facing Nigeria.

He also reflected on the significance of Easter, noting that Jesus' resurrection is a testament to hope and transformation, urging people not to lose faith despite their struggles.
