NSP Confirms Mary Habila Not Registered Physiotherapist

The Nigerian Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) announced on Thursday that Mary Habila, a 26-year-old health worker whose death on June 27 has attracted public scrutiny, was not a registered physiotherapist. The NSP's statement, posted on their official page, confirmed that Habila's name does not appear in their database of licensed physiotherapists.

This clarification comes amid ongoing investigations into her death, which has prompted calls for an independent inquiry from various groups, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. David Umahi, linked to the case, described Habila as a daughter and insisted there was no evidence of foul play, noting her history of medical challenges.

Habila reportedly complained of nosebleeds during a phone conversation with her boyfriend shortly before her death. The police investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy yet to be conducted, as the family seeks to understand the circumstances surrounding her passing.
