Family Demands Release of Mary Habila's Body for Burial

The family of Mary Habila is urgently requesting the Nigeria Police Force to release her body for burial, as it has been withheld for nearly three weeks following her death. The family, represented by Kail Yusuf, insists that they do not want an autopsy conducted, despite repeated requests from the Ministry of Works and the police.

They maintain that their decision is rooted in cultural traditions. Mary Habila was employed as a nurse at David Umahi University of Health Sciences in Uburu and served as a second officer in the Ministry of Works for three years.

Her father, Tanko Habila, expressed concern over the delay, emphasizing the need to bury his daughter promptly. The family has not accused anyone of wrongdoing but seeks to resolve the matter without further complications.

They have submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police, appealing for urgent intervention from the Ebonyi State Police Command.
