Residents Seek Justice After Mary Habila's Burial

Mary Habila was buried quietly in Nok, a community in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with minimal public information about the ceremony. Residents learned of her burial only after it occurred.

The police spokesman, CSP Anietie Iniedu, confirmed that an autopsy had been conducted and that the report is ready, but he did not disclose any details, stating that a Freedom of Information request would be necessary to access it. This development adds complexity to the controversy surrounding Mary’s death, which occurred on June 27 inside the staff quarters at Senator Umahi’s country home in Uburu, Ebonyi State.

She was declared dead on arrival at the David Umahi Federal Teaching Hospital. The case was initially handled by the Ebonyi State Police Command before being transferred to the police headquarters in Abuja due to national interest.

The family has not provided further comments, and significant questions remain regarding the autopsy findings and the circumstances of her death.
