Enugu Governor Mbah Launches DNA Forensic Center

On Wednesday, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah launched the Central DNA Forensic Criminal Investigation (CEDFOCI) center in partnership with Godfrey Okoye University. This initiative aims to bolster the state's crime investigation capabilities and enhance the justice system.

Mbah warned criminals that while they may attempt to evade capture, they will ultimately face justice. He highlighted the importance of the center in tracking down criminals and resolving long-standing cases that previously lacked the necessary forensic tools.

The governor stated that the establishment of CEDFOCI is a significant investment in the state's security architecture, which is crucial for attracting business and innovation. He also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu's support for state police reforms, which have facilitated funding for infrastructure development, including security enhancements.

Mbah urged residents to report crimes promptly to aid law enforcement and emphasized that the center will enable the identification and prosecution of offenders through advanced forensic science.
