MCSN Sues Abuja Hotels Over Copyright Violations in Ongoing Legal Battle

The Music Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) has initiated legal action against Abuja hotels for copyright infringements. MCSN is prosecuting civil and criminal cases against hotel owners who have not obtained licenses for playing music by Nigerian and foreign artists.

The cases involve venues like hotels, clubs, lounges, event centers, gardens, and supermarkets where music is publicly performed without proper authorization. Notably, a previous case against Bolton White Hotel saw MCSN secure a favorable ruling.

The society is actively enforcing copyright laws to protect the rights of music creators and owners.
