Nigerian Woman Aims for 144-Hour Bible Reading Record

Habibat Salawudeen Ihiovi Jack is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest continuous Bible reading marathon, targeting a duration of 144 hours. The record attempt commenced on June 22, 2023, at Novotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and is expected to conclude on July 2, 2023.

As of Saturday, she crossed the 100-hour mark and entered the final stretch of her challenge. The event is being conducted in accordance with Guinness World Record guidelines, requiring continuous reading aloud without breaks, with essential needs permitted.

Habibat is a member of Summit Bible Church in Port Harcourt, where Dr. Andi Osakw serves as the senior pastor.

This initiative is described as a faith-driven project aimed at promoting deeper engagement with the Bible and is intended to exalt God's word while inspiring believers. The attempt has garnered support from family, friends, and church members, and has drawn attention on social media.
