Nigerian Woman Sets 144-Hour Bible Reading Record

Habibat Salawudeen successfully completed a 144-hour Bible reading attempt from June 22 to June 29, 2023, aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon reading aloud. The event was held at Novotel Port Harcourt and was officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

Salawudeen's endeavor was supported by family, friends, and church members from Summit Bible Church, where Dr. Andi Osakw serves as the senior pastor.

The attempt followed a year of preparation that began in June 2022, adhering to Guinness World Record guidelines, which allowed for brief breaks. Salawudeen's achievement is intended to honor God's word and inspire believers.

The current record for the longest marathon reading aloud is held by Samson Ajao, who read continuously for 215 hours, surpassing the previous record of 124 hours set by Kyrgyzstan's Rysbai Isakov in 2022. Salawudeen's attempt will undergo verification by Guinness World Records for official recognition.
