Nigerian Woman Attempts 144-Hour Bible Reading Record

Habibat Salawudeen Ihiovi Jack is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the longest Bible reading marathon, aiming for 144 hours. The event is taking place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, starting on June 22 and expected to conclude on July 2, subject to verification by Guinness World Records.

The marathon, tagged "144 Hour Word," has garnered support from Christian residents across the country, who are following her progress online. As of Saturday, Habibat successfully crossed the 100-hour mark, moving into the final phase of the marathon.

Videos circulating on social media show her reading passages from the Bible aloud at a lectern, with a digital timer displaying the hours completed. Family, church members, and friends have been present to motivate her throughout the challenge.

The event is being conducted in strict accordance with Guinness World Records guidelines. Habibat, a member of Summit Bible Church in Port Harcourt, explained that her project is inspired by a desire to encourage belief and promote the message of God's word.
