Dino Melaye Accuses Senate of Plotting to Rig 2027 Elections, ADC Condemns Decision

Former Nigerian lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has accused the Senate of plotting to rig the 2027 elections after rejecting the electronic transmission of election results. Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), criticized the Senate's move as an explicit endorsement of election rigging.

The ADC condemned the decision of the APC-led 10th Senate to reject key electoral reforms aimed at improving the credibility of future elections and enhancing efficiency within political parties. Melaye called on lawmakers and citizens to stand against the alleged plan for election manipulation and fraud, stating that the rejection of electronic transmission of results is a step backward for democracy in Nigeria.

Despite the current political dominance, the ADC expressed concerns about the possibility of free and fair elections in 2027 due to the Senate's actions.
