Military Investigates Death of NYSC Member, Enhances Cooperation

The Armed Forces of Nigeria, represented by spokesperson Michael Onoja, announced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member during a monthly press briefing in Abuja. Onoja assured that the findings of the inquiry would be made public upon completion.

He highlighted the significant enhancement of military operations in the past three months, particularly in intelligence sharing and capacity building, supported by a unit from the United States. The military has intensified efforts to complement kinetic operations with non-kinetic strategies aimed at strengthening civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) activities across various operational theaters.

These initiatives are designed to build trust within local communities, promote peace, and support livelihoods. The military's ongoing operations include efforts to ensure security for farmers in Southern Kaduna during the 2026 farming season and facilitate the resettlement of displaced persons, reinforcing public confidence in the Armed Forces.
