Nigerian Army Reshuffles Commanders to Boost Security

The Nigerian Army has undertaken a significant reshuffle, redeploying Theatre Commanders, General Officers Commanding (GOCs), and 15 other generals to reinvigorate its fight against insecurity, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping. Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, announced that this strategic move aims to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen national security.

He expressed confidence that the addition of 8,000 newly trained soldiers will significantly bolster ongoing military operations and contribute to restoring peace across Nigeria. The redeployment includes key appointments such as Major General WM Dangana as GOC of the 3 Division and Major General EI Okoro as GOC of the 6 Division.

Other notable appointments include Major General SA Emmanuel to the Nigerian Army Space Command and Major General O Adegb as Director of Intelligence Security. This restructuring reflects the Army's commitment to addressing evolving security challenges and maintaining peace and security throughout the nation.
