Nigerian Army Reshuffles Leadership for Enhanced Security

The Nigerian Army has implemented a major reshuffle in its senior leadership, aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and enhancing national security. This announcement was made on a Saturday and approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.

Key appointments include Major General WM Dangana as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division, replacing Major General EF Oyinlola, and Major General EI Okoro as GOC of the 6 Division. Other notable appointments include Major General EE Emeka, Major General JR Lar, and Brigadier General OM Oyekola, who will assume various command roles.

Brigadier General IB Buhari will lead the 63 Brigade, while Major General SA Emmanuel will command the Nigerian Army Space Command. The reshuffle also affects military training institutions, with Major General KE Chigbu appointed as Deputy Commandant of the National Defence College.

This restructuring is part of an ongoing transformation drive to build a professional, combat-ready, and people-oriented force capable of addressing Nigeria's evolving security challenges.
