Nigerian Army Announces Major Leadership Reshuffle

A major restructuring within the Nigerian Army has been announced, involving the redeployment of several General Officers Commanding (GOCs) as part of ongoing efforts to enhance national security and improve operational capacity. The reshuffle, approved by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, affects various commands including field and school commands.

Major General W.M. Dangana has been appointed as the new GOC of the 3 Division, replacing Major General E.F.

Oyinlola. Major General E.I.

Okoro takes over as GOC of the 6 Division, succeeding Major General E.E. Emeka.

Other significant appointments include Major General J.R. Lar at Army Headquarters Garrison, Brigadier General O.M.

Oyekola as Acting Military Secretary, and Brigadier General I.B. Buhari at Headquarters 63 Brigade.

The changes reflect the Army's increased focus on technology-driven security operations and aim to strengthen leadership and combat readiness across the organization.
