The KDI team lead, Bukola Idowu, emphasized the detrimental impact of misinformation and disinformation on election outcomes in Nigeria, particularly during the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections. Idowu highlighted the need for stakeholders to address these issues to ensure transparent and credible electoral processes.

Dr. Mutiu Agbok of INEC Osun State urged active citizen participation in monitoring elections and reporting irregularities.

The use of artificial intelligence tools to combat misinformation and promote verified voter information was also discussed during the event in Osogbo.
