Mob Burns Woman to Death Over Child Theft Rumor in Kaduna

In Kaduna, a married woman was burned to death by a mob over rumors of child theft. The victim, who was attending an Islamic lecture, was accused of attempting to steal children, leading to a swift escalation of violence.

Despite the intervention of security personnel, the situation deteriorated as hundreds of youths gathered at the police station demanding the woman's release. The Kaduna State Police Command, led by DSP Mansir Hassan, described the attack as a barbaric act and confirmed that the allegations of child theft were fictitious.

The police received a distress call at 10 AM regarding the mob attack, and efforts to rescue the woman were made, but she was ultimately overpowered and killed. Following the incident, several suspects were arrested, and a manhunt for the perpetrators was initiated.

The police emphasized the need for a comprehensive investigation to ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law.
