Kogi Monarch Warns Against Youth Kidney Sales for Wealth

Chief Ochimana Simon Anu, the Onu Egume/Okura District traditional ruler in Dekina Local Government Area, Kogi State, has expressed alarm over reports of youths selling their kidneys to acquire expensive motorcycles and other possessions. He described this trend as disturbing and unacceptable during a statement made at his palace in Egume.

Momoh Idris Ospaca, the Media Custodian of Onu Egume Palace, conveyed the monarch's warning to youths about the dangers of seeking quick wealth at the expense of their health. Anu directed the formation of a security committee to investigate reports of underage youths suddenly acquiring motorcycles valued between N1 million and N2 million, aiming to uncover any criminal activities linked to these purchases.

He emphasized the importance of lawful means of livelihood and urged community members to report suspicious activities. Anu reaffirmed his opposition to kidney-selling activities and warned that anyone involved would face sanctions under traditional laws.
