FC Sochi Sacks Coach Moreno for Using ChatGPT in Starting Lineups

Former Spain coach Robert Moreno was sacked by Russia's FC Sochi for reportedly relying heavily on ChatGPT, an AI tool, to select starting lineups and make tactical decisions during training sessions. The club's former general director revealed that Moreno even used ChatGPT to create training schedules and provide advice, such as staying awake for 28 hours before matches.

Moreno's leadership led to FC Sochi's relegation from the Russian Premier League to the first league in autumn 2025. He was dismissed after managing the team for just seven league matches.

The decision to sack Moreno was due to the team's poor performance under his leadership, with the club experiencing a decline in results and ultimately facing relegation.
