INEC Derecognizes ADC Leaders, Sparks Political Backlash

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially derecognized David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a decision that has sparked significant backlash from opposition parties, including the ADC and the People's Democratic Party (PDP). In a related political development, President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Plateau State on Thursday following a series of deadly attacks and abductions in the region, which have heightened security concerns. This visit comes after an earlier trip to Ogun State was canceled due to these security issues.

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of tactical units to restore security in the affected areas.
