Tinubu and Obi Sign Peace Accord for 2027 Elections

On the eve of the official start of public campaigns for the 2027 general elections, President Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi, along with other political candidates, signed the first National Peace Accord. This agreement, organized by the National Peace Committee, emphasizes the commitment to issue-based campaigns while rejecting violence, hate speech, and personal attacks.

Notably, some significant political figures, including Atiku Abubakar, were absent from the signing ceremony. The accord aims to foster a peaceful electoral environment as Nigeria approaches the upcoming elections.
