Morocco Dominates Nigeria, Ending Davis Cup Journey

Nigeria's Davis Cup run concluded with a 4-0 defeat to Morocco in their tie at the Railway Club courts in Rabat. The match took place on Sunday, following Morocco's commanding 2-0 lead established on Saturday.

Karim Bennani defeated Canice Abua 6-1, 6-2, while Yassine Dlimi achieved an identical score against Yusuf Abubakar. The doubles match featured Nigeria's Michael Emmanuel and Yusuf Abubakar against Morocco's Younes Lalami and Dlimi, ending 6-3, 6-2 in favor of Morocco.

Amine Jamji then secured the final victory over Emmanuel with a score of 6-3, 6-4. This defeat marks the end of Nigeria's campaign at the World Group II level, a position they reached after defeating Uzbekistan 3-1 in February at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

Nigeria's preparations were hindered by the withdrawal of players Adeleye and Seun Ogunsakin due to injury and conditioning issues, respectively. Morocco's win advances them to the 2027 World Group I Play-offs, while Nigeria remains in the World Group II play-offs for the next year.
