Mortician Arrested for Using Human Limb as Walking Stick

A mortician named Amaobi was arrested in Benue after he was caught using a severed human leg as a makeshift walking stick, alarming local residents. The incident occurred on a Friday morning in the Buruku Local Government Area, where Amaobi was seen purchasing items at a retail shop while casually leaning on the human limb.

This macabre display drew a horrified crowd, prompting local youth to detain him until security personnel arrived. Amaobi, who has worked at the local morgue for a significant period, claimed his actions were a stunt to highlight the overwhelming number of unclaimed bodies, reportedly 18, due to alleged police inaction regarding requests for body evacuation.

Teresa Tule, a distressed resident, expressed shock at the incident, while Edet Udem from the police public relations office stated that a full report had not yet been received. The incident raises serious questions about the management of morgues and the handling of unclaimed remains in the area.
