Moses Simon: Current Eagles Unlikely for 2030 World Cup

Moses Simon, a winger for the Nigeria National Football Team, admitted his disappointment regarding Nigeria's failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He stated that most players in the current squad, including captain Wilfred Ndidi (29), Alex Iwobi (30), and Victor Osimhen (27), are unlikely to be part of the team for the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

Simon, who will be 35 at the time of the next World Cup, expressed deep feelings of sorrow within the squad about missing the tournament. He believes that a new generation of players will be ready to take on the responsibility of representing Nigeria.

Simon emphasized that every player desires to participate in the World Cup and feels the weight of not qualifying. He remains optimistic that the next generation will fulfill the ambitions of Nigerian football, highlighting the emergence of young talents like Benjamin Frederick.
