Ansar-ud-Deen Women Promote Cervical Cancer Awareness

During a Mother's Day event organized by the Ansar-ud-Deen Society's women wing in Kaduna, awareness was raised about cervical cancer and the importance of regular screenings. The event featured speeches from key figures including Alhaji Hassan Ismail, who represented the vice chairman, Alhaji Moshood Akinsanya, and chairperson Hajia Wosilat Sanni.

Dr. Fatima Bakar, head of the gynecology department at Yusuf Dantsoho Teaching Hospital, served as the guest speaker.

She stressed the significance of prioritizing health, particularly for women aged 35 and above, urging them to undergo regular medical check-ups and pap smear tests for early detection of cervical cancer. Dr.

Bakar also noted the increasing incidence of kidney-related diseases attributed to unhealthy lifestyles and certain cosmetic products. She advised women to adopt healthier habits, including a balanced diet and regular health monitoring.
