Mudryk Cleared to Play After Doping Case Resolution

Mykhailo Mudryk, a 25-year-old winger, is now available to return to competitive play after resolving his doping case with the Football Association (FA). He had been provisionally suspended since November 2024 due to an “adverse finding” for the banned substance meldonium.

Initially, he was handed the maximum four-year ban by the FA, but he appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The FA announced that the anti-doping disciplinary proceedings have been resolved, allowing Mudryk to return to competition “with immediate effect” after he accepted breaking anti-doping rules and agreed to a suspension equal to the time already served.

Mudryk expressed gratitude for the opportunity to return, describing the period as the most challenging of his career. Chelsea stated they are eager to assist Mudryk in regaining full fitness and integrating him back into the squad, including participation in the club’s pre-season tour.
