Nigeria's Minister Seeks Cultural Ties with Qatar

On a condolence visit to the Qatari Ambassador in Nigeria, Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, expressed sympathy on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria for the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Musawa described the late Amir as a visionary statesman whose leadership from 1995 to 2013 transformed Qatar.

She emphasized Nigeria's commitment to strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations with Qatar, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda. During the visit, Musawa discussed mutual interests, particularly in enhancing cultural tourism and creative economy exchanges.

She advocated for improved travel processes to facilitate cultural exchanges and tourism between Nigeria and Qatar. The Qatari Ambassador, Yousef Mohd Ahmad Al Hail, acknowledged the visit and expressed Qatar's commitment to deepening cultural ties with Nigeria, recognizing the rich diversity of Nigerian culture and the potential for collaboration in music, film, and fashion.
