Mutfwang's Reinstatement of Bashar Monarch Promotes Peace

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has reinstated Abdullahi Idri Rekna as the traditional ruler of Bashar, a decision that community leaders believe will strengthen peace and promote unity in the Wase Local Government Area. The Bashar Chiefdom Development Association described this action as a significant step toward resolving longstanding chieftaincy disputes and fostering reconciliation within the Bashar chiefdom and the wider Wase federal constituency.

A statement issued on Friday by the association, signed by its president Dr. Zakari Moham and secretary Yunusa Garba, commended Mutfwang for his commitment to justice and grassroots peacebuilding. They emphasized that the reinstatement reflects the governor's willingness to listen to the people's priorities and work towards community harmony.

The association expressed optimism that resolving the chieftaincy matter would reinforce ongoing peacebuilding efforts across Wase and contribute to greater stability in Plateau State. They urged residents to support traditional institutions and remain law-abiding to sustain peace.
