Governor Yusuf Accuses Former Deputy of Removal Plot

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, publicly accused his former deputy, Aminu Abdussalam, of plotting to remove him from office. This revelation was made during an address to a group supporting the government in Kano on a Friday.

Yusuf highlighted the political tensions in the state and noted that Abdussalam had not submitted an official resignation letter despite his exit from the political ticket. He characterized the former deputy's actions as part of a broader attempt to dislodge his administration, which he asserted had failed.

Yusuf pointed to internal dynamics within the Kwankwasiyya movement as a significant influence on recent events. He dismissed claims of betrayal, arguing that his actions were necessary to safeguard stability and protect the interests of Kano residents.

Furthermore, he indicated that the administration would continue to function until the end of its mandate and confirmed ongoing consultations to fill the vacant deputy governorship position with a credible successor.
