Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Fake Agency Director

On Tuesday, a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Moham Umar, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is accused of impersonating the Director General of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council. Adeyemi failed to appear for his arraignment on eight counts of conspiracy and forgery.

The prosecution, led by Wisdom Madaki, applied for the bench warrant after Adeyemi's counsel, Genesi Franci, claimed his client feared for his life. The court adjourned the case until September 30, 2026.

The charges against Adeyemi, filed by the Nigerian Police Force on November 27, 2025, include allegations of presenting false documents, including a purported presidential appointment letter. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 21 years in prison without the option of a fine for the forgery charges.
