N-HYPADEC Distributes 50 Power Tillers in Kogi State

The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (N-HYPADEC) has distributed 50 hand power tillers to small-scale farmers in Kogi State as part of its initiative to boost agricultural productivity and food security in Nigeria. The distribution ceremony took place at the N-HYPADEC office in Lokoja, where Managing Director Abubakar Yelwa emphasized that this intervention is crucial for improving agricultural practices and enhancing food production across the country.

Haruna Gabi, the Director of Finance and Administration, noted that this initiative followed a meeting with 23 state agricultural commissions to assist local farmers. Timothy Ojoma, the Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture, praised Yelwa's visionary leadership and the support from project coordinator Michael Ajayi and the entire staff.

The power tillers symbolize progress and are part of a broader strategy to revitalize agriculture in Kogi State, which includes distributing 30,000 units of fertilizer to farmers. The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities and increase food security in the region.
