NACCIMA Commends FG for Reopening Samiya International Border to Boost Trade

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) President, Jani Ibrahim, has commended the Federal Government for immediately reopening the Samiya International Border in Kebbi State, connecting Nigeria and the Benin Republic. Ibrahim highlighted the significance of the decision in strengthening cross-border trade, enhancing regional economic cooperation, and promoting legitimate economic activities.

The reopening was accompanied by the deployment of modern cargo monitoring technology to improve transit control and combat smuggling. NACCIMA emphasized the importance of faster cargo clearance and coordinated inter-agency oversight to support trade facilitation while safeguarding national security and revenue interests.

The move is seen as a positive step towards enhancing regional integration and boosting economic growth.
